BROOKVILLE, N.Y. (May, 17, 2010) – C.W. Post Director of Athletics Bryan Collins will join the C.W. Post Nutrition Club to walk in support of the National Kidney Foundation on Sunday, May 23 at Hofstra University.
Collins, who serves as Vice Chair of the Long Island Kidney Walk, will be walking to promote awareness and raise funds to support life-saving programs and services.
The walk begins at 10:30 a.m. and anyone interested in walking is invited to join the group, which is registered as “CW Post Toasties” by going to http://walk.kidney.org/longisland . Donations to support the group can also be made on the team page.
The National Kidney Foundation's Kidney Walk is a fun, inspiring, community fundraiser which calls attention to the prevention of kidney disease and the need for organ donation. It's also an opportunity for patients, family, friends and businesses to come together to support the millions of Americans with chronic kidney disease.
Thanks to the money raised through the walks, NKF is able to offer free health screenings for kidney disease, public and professional education programs, advocacy to make patients' voices heard through legislative action, and a vital research program to identify new clinical treatments.
