CAPE COD, Mass. (Jan. 19, 2010) – Junior guard Janea Aiken (St. Albans, N.Y.) was named ECAC Player of the Week in recognition of her performances against the University of Bridgeport and Mercy College.
Aiken averaged 18.0 points in two games, leading the Pioneers to a 2-0 week. The junior tied for a game-high 17 points to lead her team to victory against Bridgeport, to end the Purple Knights conference undefeated streak. Aiken was 7-for-12 from the field while pulling down six rebounds and dishing out four assists. At Mercy, Aiken was 7-for-12, including a perfect 3-for-3 from long range in just twenty minutes of play.
