Kohler Picks Up ECC Rookie Of The Week Honors

CENTRAL ISLIP, N.Y. (Jan. 11, 2010) – Freshman guard Jonathan Kohler (Bordentown, N.J.) garnered East Coast Conference Rookie of the Week honors for the second straight week, the conference announced Monday.
Kohler led the Pioneers to a 2-0 week, averaging 14.5 points per game on 11-for-17 shooting while averaging seven rebounds per game. He scored nine of his 13 points in the second half in a comeback win over Molloy, including the game-tying free throw with 47 seconds remaining that eventually led to the Pioneers taking the lead for good. He scored 16 points against St. Thomas Aquinas on 75 percent shooting efforts while pulling down eight boards.
On the week, Kohler dished out six assists, grabbed three steals, and blocked one shot.
C.W. Post (8-4, 4-2 ECC) returns to action Monday evening in an ECC tilt at Queens College at 7:30 p.m.
