Men's Lacrosse Claims Five NCAA Statistical Categories

INDIANAPOLIS (April 11, 2009) The national championship C.W. Post men’s lacrosse team set the mark in NCAA Division II, leading in five statistical categories during the 2009 season.
 
The Pioneers were the top-ranked in scoring offense with an average 15.06 goals per contest while also leading in man-up offense (.507), face-off win percentage (.675) and scoring-margin (8.88).
 
Junior midfielder Mike Cama (Levittown, N.Y.) led in face-off win percentage with a .685 clip, and was second overall in ground balls per game with an average of 10.69.
 
Senior attacker Greg Cerar (Massapequa Park, N.Y.), who received the USILA Lt. Raymond J. Enners Award for Outstanding Player, was second in the nation in points per game with 5.38 after scoring 48 goals and adding 37 assists.
 
Senior goalkeeper Dan Sciulla (Merrick, N.Y.) ranked second in goals against average (6.39) and save percentage (.645).
 
C.W. Post captured its second national title in program history with an 8-7 win over undefeated LeMoyne College on May 24 at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Mass.
