Softball Receives Votes In Final NFCA Poll

STARKVILLE, Miss. (June 1, 2009) The National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) released its final poll of the 2009 season.  The C.W. Post softball team received votes and nearly missed placing in the top 25.

National champion Lock Haven University received a unanimous 16 first-place votes to lead the poll.  National runner-up Alabama-Huntsville was second, followed by North Georgia, Angelo State and Winona State.  Rounding out the top ten were Dixie State, LeMoyne, Valdosta State, Kutztown and Indianapolis.

C.W. Post, who ranked as high as 14th in the poll this season, closed out 2009 with a 34-18 overall record.  The Pioneers captured their second straight East Coast Conference championship title and qualified for the NCAA Championships for the eighth straight season.
