BROOKVILLE, N.Y. (Dec. 30, 2009)- Lacrosse Magazine released its 2010 NCAA Division II Women's preseason poll, slotting the C.W. Post Pioneers in 6th place. C.W. Post is joined on the list by East Coast Conference rival Dowling College, who was ranked 2nd.
The Pioneers return to the field under the direction of third-year head coach Meghan McNamara. C.W. Post completed the 2009 season with a 16-3 overall record, including a 3-1 mark in the ECC. The Pioneers made an appearance in the NCAA Division II Semifinals for the fourth consecutive season, ultimately falling to former conference opponent and eventual national champion Adelphi University. C.W. Post was ranked second in the season’s final IWLCA poll.
McNamara and the Pioneers kick off their season March 13, 2010 as they host Southern New Hampshire on Hickox Field in Brookville, N.Y. Game time is set for 11:30 a.m.
