BALTIMORE (Dec. 30, 2009) – Lacrosse Magazine released its 2010 Division II men’s lacrosse preseason poll and the defending champion C.W. Post Pioneers topped the list.
The Pioneers, who lead the field of 10 schools, won their second national title last season with an 8-7 win over LeMoyne College. The Dolphins were second in the poll while neighboring New York Institute of Technology was third. Merrimack College, who advanced to the NCAA tournament last season, was selected fourth followed by Limestone College (5), Mercyhurst College (6), Dowling College (7), Mars Hill (8), St. Leo (9) and Molloy (10).
LeMoyne’s Drew Bezek was voted the preseason player of the year.
C.W. Post opens the new season Feb. 13 at Queens University of Charlotte, N.C.
