Men's Basketball Voted Preseason Favorite In ECC Coaches Poll

CENTRAL ISLIP, N.Y. (Nov. 4, 2009) – C.W. Post led all teams in the East Coast Conference as the preseason favorite in the coaches poll, released Wednesday afternoon.
Senior guard David Seagers of Dowling was picked as the preseason Player of the Year.
The Pioneers, led by head coach Tim Cluess, received three first-place votes to finish with 57 points, edging out the University of Bridgeport, who also received three first-place votes and totaled 56 points.
Dowling College was third with two first-place votes and 53 points, followed by Queens College (36), NYIT (31), Molloy (26), St. Thomas Aquinas (18) and Mercy (12).
C.W. Post has won the ECC championship the last two years and advanced to the Elite Eight tournament with a 30-0 record before falling to Findlay University, 89-79.
The Pioneers open the 2009-10 season at Millersville University on Nov. 21.
