Army Upends Swimming, 152-106

BROOKVILLE, N.Y. (Nov. 20, 2009) – The C.W. Post swimming team dropped a 152-106 decision to the Army in a 16-event dual meet Friday evening at the Pratt Recreation Center natatorium.
Army improves to 3-4 overall while C.W. Post slips to 2-3.
Senior Britney Roman-Green (Woodstock, N.Y.) along with senior Dora Biocic (Zagreb, Croatia), junior Riley Cassidy (Cambridge, Ontario) and freshman Cornelia Hanes (Stockholm, Sweden) won the meet’s first event – the 200-yard medley relay- with a final time of 1:51.82.
Roman-Green went on to win the 200 backstroke (2:09.08) and the 100 backstroke (1:01.27). Senior Morgan Feliccia (Arnold, Md.) was second in the event for C.W. Post, finishing at 1:03.35.
Senior Josephine Tjernstrom (Bromma, Sweden) narrowly beat out Army’s Becky Malone in the 200 breaststroke, finishing at 2:29.82.
Army freshman Alyssa Tran (Yorba Linda, Calif.) claimed two individual wins, first in the 50 free (24.54) and also the 100 free (54.78).
C.W. Post returns to the pool on Saturday, Dec. 12 to host the University of Bridgeport at 1 p.m.
