BROOKVILLE, N.Y. (Oct. 24, 2009) – Senior forward Krystal Napolitano (Coram, N.Y.) scored her 10th season goal in the 74th minute as C.W. Post won a 1-0 upset victory in overtime over seventh-ranked Kutztown University in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference east division game Saturday afternoon on Hickox Field
C.W. Post completes the season with an 8-9 overall record and 2-6 mark in PSAC East action while Kutztown slips to 12-7 overall and 4-4 in PSAC East.
The teams played through two halves deadlocked with no score, forcing the game into an overtime frame. Napolitano’s goal was set up on a breakaway downfield that came together when junior forward Amanda Nann (Hamburg, N.J.) flicked an on-the-run pass to Napolitano who shot it past Waltman.
Each team took 10 shots and each had seven penalty corner opportunities in the game.
Junior goalkeeper Cortney Colern (Barker, N.Y.) turned aside six shots to preserve the win. Kutztown’s Karly Waltman (Birdsboro, Pa.) made two stops in goal for the Golden Bears.
