CHARLOTTE (May 24, 2007) - C.W. Post senior Junaid Hamin-Gilliam (Freeport, N.Y.) rounded out his final outdoor track and field season in grand style Thursday afternoon at Johnson C. Smith University, as he placed ninth in the long jump with his leap of 23-03.25 at the 2007 NCAA Division II Men's Outdoor Track and Field Championships.

Hamin-Gilliam, who has one season of indoor track and field eligibility remaining, finished just three-quarters of an inch shy of tying for eighth place, which would have given him All-America kudos. He won both the East Coast Conference and Collegiate Track Conference long jump championships, and is a one-time All-Academic selection by the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.
