STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. (Mar. 31, 2007) - The C.W. Post women's 4x100 relay team of Dominique Lofaro, Colleena Guy, Tishanna Miller and Christine Locher won their event in a time of 49.53 Saturday afternoon, marking the Pioneers' fastest performance in the event in nearly 20 years as the team competed at the Wagner Invitational.
Senior Natalie Johnston set a personal record with her second-place finish in the 1500 (4:57.73), while Lofaro PR'd with a 13.14 time in the 100-meter dash.
Guy placed third in the 200-meter dash (27.08), and was followed up by seventh (27.65) and ninth (27.85) place efforts from Nora Bernard and Enjole Johnson, respectively.
On the men's side, freshman Joe Parks was the first collegiate finisher in the 1500 (PR, 4:05.85), while Obed Biene placed third in the 800 with a PR-time of 2:00.28. Senior Junaid Hamin-Gilliam placed seventh (11.19) and eighth (23.33) in the 100 and 200-meter sprints, respectively, while Avi Thomas set a PR in the 400 hurdles with his fifth-place time of 57.76.
Head coach Rich Degnan's Pioneers are back in action Monday afternoon (April 2), when they travel to Jamaica, N.Y., for the St. John's Invitational.
