The C.W. Post Department of Athletics announced the candidates for the 2010 Athletic Hall of Fame Induction Dinner, which will take place Wednesday, March 24, 2010 at the Milleridge Cottage in Jericho, N.Y.

Three C.W. Post women’s soccer players were honored with NSCAA Division II All-East Region nominations, as voted on by its members. Junior Ivana Babic (Haninge, Sweden) was recognized as a All-East Region second team member, while senior Caitlin Mullady (Hauppauge, N.Y.) and freshman Prudence Rydstrom (Islip, N.Y.) earned All-East Region third team nods.

Senior defender Caitlin Mullady (Hauppauge, N.Y.) and junior forward Ivana Babic (Haninge, Sweden) added on more postseason honors as they were named to the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference (ECAC) Women’s Soccer All-Star team.

Daktronics, Inc. released its All-America selections for the 2009 season, honoring C.W. Post senior defender Caitlin Mullady (Hauppauge, N.Y.) with a spot on the All-America Honorable Mention roster. She was one of only two ECC players to receive the honors, as University of Bridgeport senior Emma Woolley (Sheffield, England) was placed on the All-America Second Team squad.

Dowling senior Vanessa Moreira (Selden, N.Y.) scored the game winning goal in the 108th minute to propel the Golden Lions past the C.W. Post Pioneers 1-0 in the East Coast Conference semifinal match Friday afternoon. With the win, Dowling advances to the East Coast Conference Championship against the winner of NYIT vs. Queens. Championship game is set to take place November 8th at NYIT.

The C.W. Post Pioneers defeated Southern New Hampshire University, 3-1, in the Penmen’s season finale at Larkin Field Wednesday afternoon. The win improves the Pioneers overall record to 12-4-1, while Southern New Hampshire falls to 4-13-3 for the season.

The East Coast Conference released its weekly report Monday evening, selecting C.W. Post junior forward Ivana Babic (Haninge, Sweden) as conference Offensive Player of the Week. The honors come after Babic accumulated six points in the Pioneers’ three wins last week to help C.W. Post improve to an overall record of 11-4-1, 5-1 in the ECC.
