The Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) has honored five women's lacrosse players from C.W. Post with a selection to the association's All-American teams. Seniors Kim Williams (Long Valley, N.J.), Staci Passafiume (Port Jefferson, N.Y.) and Brianne Jackolski (Shirley, N.Y.) garnered spots on the First Team, while sophomores Ashley Olen (East Islip, N.Y.) and Chelsea Donaldson (Bay Shore, N.Y.) earned Second Team kudos.

C.W. Post senior midfielder Kim Williams (Long Valley, N.J.) was named the womenslacrosse.com Midfielder of the Year, the organization announced on Wednesday. In addition, Williams, senior atttacker Staci Passafiume (Port Jefferson, N.Y.) and sophomore attacker Ashley Olen East Islip, N.Y.) were named First Team All-Americans, while sophomore defender Chelsea Donaldson (Bayshore, N.Y.) was named to the second team, and freshman attacker Abigail Ross (Miller Place, N.Y.) earned a spot on the All-Rookie Squad.

The Awards Committee for the Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) has selected C.W. Post senior women's lacrosse player Kian Lyons (Farmingdale, N.Y.) as the 2010 Division II Community Awareness Award winner.

The ECAC announced its Division II All-Star Teams today, and C.W. Post freshman goalkeeper Dominique Mosca (Merrick, N.Y.) garnered a spot on the first team and was named the Defensive Player of the year, while seniors Staci Passafiume (Port Jefferson, N.Y.), Brianne Jackolski (Shirley, N.Y.) and Kim Williams (Long Valley, N.J.), and sophomore Ashley Olen (East Islip, N.Y.) garnered notice on the Second Team.

Kaurey Foley (Mohegan Lake, N.Y.) was honored at the NCAA Championship banquet on Friday, May 21 in Gettysburg, Pa., with the Elite 88 award. The Elite 88 is an award where the NCAA recognizes the student-athlete with the highest grade-point average, who is participating at the finals site for each of the NCAA’s 88 championships. This is a student-athlete from each division and each sport that reaches the finals and also achieves the highest academic standard.

The top-ranked C.W. Post women’s lacrosse team pulled to within a goal of third-ranked Adelphi University with a second-half comeback attempt, but a 6-1 run by the Panthers put the game out of reach for the Pioneers as they fell 14-9 in the NCAA Division II semifinal game.

Abigail Ross (Miller Place, N.Y.) shared Rookie of the Year honors with Queens’ Sarah Boucher and head coach Meghan McNamara was named Coach of the Year. This year’s all-conference teams were highlighted with 10 Pioneer selections, the most the program has ever received.
