C.W. Post head volleyball coach Shellane Ogoshi announced the addition of Jordan Schroer (Kailua, Hawaii) and Maka Namahoe (Hilo, Hawaii) to the 2010 squad.

C.W Post head women’s volleyball coach Shellane Ogoshi announced the addition of two incoming freshmen for the 2010-11 school year. Stephanie Coufal (Littleton, Colo.) and Shayla Hixson (Honolulu, Hawaii) will play for the Pioneers in the upcoming school year.

Freshman Kirsten Taylor (South Pasadena, Calif.) and junior Marilena Guadagnini (Huntington Beach, Calif.) each tallied 12 kills but it was not enough as C.W. Post lost a tight match to the University of Bridgeport in five sets, 3-2, in the semifinal round of the East Coast Conference volleyball championships played Friday evening at Dowling Gymnasium. The match scores were 15-25, 25-22, 20-25, 25-22 and 14-16.

The East Coast Conference released its All-Conference selections for volleyball and senior middle blocker Kerri Heitner (Wantagh, N.Y.) and freshman middle blocker Kirsten Taylor (South Pasadena, Calif.) were named Second Team. Head coach Shellane Ogoshi was voted along with Bridgeport’s Leo Uzcategui as Coach of the Year by the conference coaches.
