The C.W. Post Department of Athletics announced the candidates for the 2010 Athletic Hall of Fame Induction Dinner, which will take place Wednesday, March 24, 2010 at the Milleridge Cottage in Jericho, N.Y.

Lacrosse Magazine released its 2010 Division II men’s lacrosse preseason poll and the defending champion C.W. Post Pioneers topped the list.

C.W. Post head men’s lacrosse coach John Jez, in his fourth season, announced the Pioneers’ schedule for the upcoming 2009 season. In all, the Pioneers will host nine games on Hickox Field this spring.

C.W. Post assistant men’s lacrosse coach Frank Vitolo was bestowed with the Intercollegiate Men’s Lacrosse Coaches Association (IMLCA) Assistant Coach of the Year award for his outstanding work on the defensive unit last season.

Senior midfielder Mike Cama (Levittown, N.Y.) is being considered for Lacrosse Magazine’s Preseason Player of the Year. Fans can vote for Cama by clicking here and registering their vote. Cama was 223 for 324 in face-offs and picked up 171 ground balls in 2009 and was named last year’s USILA Specialist of the Year.

The national champion C.W. Post men’s lacrosse team will be featured in a NCAA Year-In-Review highlight show broadcast on ESPN2 on July 30 at 2 p.m. EST. The Pioneers defeated top-ranked and undefeated LeMoyne College, 8-7, to capture their second national title in program history on May 24 at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Mass.
