Women's Swimming | 7.4
The C.W. Post women’s swimming team made great strides not only in the pool but in the classroom as well and was recognized by the College Swimming Coaches Association of America for having the second-highest GPA of 3.58 in Division II and eighth-highest among all three NCAA divisions.

Former C.W. Post Pete Budkevics made his professional debut Friday evening as a member of the Ogden Raptors, a Single-A affiliate of the Los Angeles Dodgers. Budkevics came on in relief and pitched two scoreless innings, allowing just one hit and striking out three batters against the Orem Owlz.

Consensus Draft Services released its Division II preseason All-America teams and has included senior defensive end Xavier Brown (Bay Shore, N.Y.) and junior offensive lineman Kevin Martin (Patchogue, N.Y.) as players to watch this season.  Brown was also recognized to the Sporting News Division II preseason All-America defensive team.

Former C.W. Post standout pitcher Pete Budkevics ’10 (Deer Park, N.Y.) had a whirlwind week, as he signed a contract with the Windy City Thunder Bolts of the Fronter League located in Crestwood, Ill., but within 24 hours of the signing, his contract was purchased by the Los Angeles Dodgers, whom Budkevics then signed with as a free agent.

The C.W. Post Pioneers have been named the winners of the 2009-10 East Coast Conference Commissioner's Cup.  Under the direction of Director of Athletics Bryan Collins, the Pioneers amassed 81.75 total points to reclaim the Cup for the first time since the 2006-07 academic year. This marks the third time C.W. Post has won the award since the Cup was established in 1994.

C.W. Post men’s lacrosse fans can now purchase the “locker room” t-shirts handed out to the team on the field after the Pioneers' 14-9 win over LeMoyne College for their second straight NCAA Championship title.

The No. 1 C.W. Post men’s lacrosse team was honored this afternoon by Nassau County Executive Edward Mangano for capturing its second straight NCAA Division II national title with a 14-9 win over LeMoyne College.
